water is healthy

Virtually every life form on earth is dependent on water. Water is the main constituent of the human body: some 70% of our body weight is made up of water. For that reason, to feel our best we need to drink an average of two liters of fluids every day (a little more than two quarts). That is a lot. But alongside the quantity, the quality of those two liters also matters.

Water performs a variety of functions in our body:  it prevents dehydration, maintains body temperature and dissolves the nutrients the body needs. If we don’t drink enough water, the body dries out, causing fatigue, headaches and diminished concentration.

So water is vital for the body to function as it should. That water therefore needs to be of the very best quality! Natural mineral water can’t compare with the water that comes out of the faucet.  Why? See the various media reports, which you can access via this site.

eight tips

why our natural mineral water is so good for you!

1. Water is life. No life could exist without water. We have to keep drinking continually to provide our body sufficient amounts of fluid.

2. Our body is made up of some 70% water (and the brain even more). That percentage must be maintained to preserve good health. After oxygen, water is the most important element we need to sustain our bodies. Drying out, or dehydration, can occur in any season. Drinking ample water is therefore necessary at all times, even in the colder months.

3. It is practically impossible for the body to extract sufficient water from, for example, fruits and vegetables.Drinking additional water is therefore essential. Coffee and alcoholic and carbonated beverages deplete the body’s water supply, while also hampering the effectiveness of digestive system because of the large quantities of sugar they typically contain.

4. Water plays a vital role in virtually every bodily function. Our blood is made up of 90% water, and the brain contains an astonishing 96% water. If your health is dear to you, then choose the very best: our natural mineral water.

5. Water is essential for good digestion, absorption of nutrients and chemical reactions in the body.

6. Water is essential for expelling the toxins that arise in the body, particularly in the digestive system. A too low pH is harmful to our body. Our blood needs a constant pH of around 7.35 (7.25–7.45), which is slightly alkaline. If the acidity level falls outside these margins, we die.

7. Water is essential to regulate our body’s temperature. For optimal body temperature regulation, we need an intake of at least 2 liters of water per day (adults). This is slightly more than 2 quarts.

8. Consistent failure to drink adequate water may result in the chronic drying out of body cells (Chronic Cellular Dehydration). Symptoms include poor immunity, often signaled by recurring colds and/or flu, and diminished ability to recover after physical exertion.

healthy aging

In general we are well advised to pay close attention to the quality of the food we consume and its origin. That applies increasingly to water too. It is a good idea to eat only food without (artificial) additives.

Water contains no fat, no cholesterol and no calories, and it is a vital component of a balanced diet.  From a physiological perspective, water is the only drink that is essential to health.

But water can be much more.  Natural mineral water is also a source of essential minerals.  The mineral content of our food is diminishing, as a result of mass production and soil depletion, which is another reason why drinking natural mineral water is a sensible thing to do. The amounts of minerals we need from day to day depend on age and lifestyle.

Drinking natural mineral water on a daily basis can therefore be a vital element in aging in health.

We often hear the criticism that all we do is package our mineral water in pretty glass bottles and ship it off to the stores for what some may consider too high a price.  Apart from the substantial investments we must make, it would be a mistake to relate our enterprise with the basic right of all people on earth to have access to adequate drinking water.  Nonetheless, adequate drinking water, is no longer a given, even for those of us in Europe.   Because of industrialization, it has become imperative to first thoroughly cleanse water before it can be labelled as safe to drink.   Sales of bottled water are rising everywhere in the world, because bottled water in most cases is of superior quality to tap water in mineral composition and reliability.

After a lengthy illness, Roelie, the wife of a childhood friend, was declared free of breast cancer. But the disease had exacted a heavy toll on her health. The surgeries, chemotherapy and all the medications to subsequently ward off a potential relapse had wreaked havoc on her vitality. The side effects of all those medications are known to compromise the functioning of numerous vital organs. Roelie’s heart, for example, had a pumping pressure of just eight following her illness. An implanted device maintained a steady heartbeat, but did little to restore her vitality.

But Roelie needed hip-replacement surgery as well. However that procedure was unthinkable, as long as her general health remained so poor. We suggested she try drinking our mineral water. Many people have told us how much more energetic they felt after drinking our mineral water. So we thought Roelie might benefit from it too. Since then, Roelie has come by every two weeks to fill up a number of large jugs, because of course Roelie drinks more than two quarts each day!

Roelie’s strength steadily improved. A year later, her doctor was confident enough to take her off a large number of her medications. Then the unbelievable happened: the operation to replace her hip could be scheduled, two years after she started drinking our mineral water. Her heart’s pumping action was also greatly improved, from 8 to 49. A healthy heart has a pumping pressure of about 60, so her recovery can certainly be called amazing!

Jan’s father was our very first “customer.” He telephoned us one day after reading a newspaper article about our spring. He asked if he could come and get some of our water for his sixteen-year-old son, who had been in traction for the past two years without showing any signs of improvement. Jan had hip dysplasia, a congenital condition that caused accelerated wearing down of the cartilage around the femoral head. In fact, Jan could no longer walk, because walking would cause the joint to wear out even faster, which could lead to the femoral head dying off entirely. The pain it caused was excruciating too.

The traction had pulled the rounded head of the thigh bone slightly out of the hip socket, producing space in the joint in which the cartilage could recover. When Jan started drinking our water he was under the care of Professor Muskiet. Regular checkups at the hospital showed a progressive increase in cartilage, many times faster than normal. Jan and his father knew without a doubt: it was because he was drinking the mineral water from the spring in Wagenborgen. The facts certainly were remarkable. Still, Professor Muskiet remained equivocal, because he didn’t have a scientific explanation for it.

We were thrilled when, three months after Jan’s father’s first visit to us, Jan himself came along on one of his father’s trips to our premises. Walking! Well, using crutches, but nonetheless he could walk again, and he had his physicians’ okay to do so.

When Janny first came to get water from us, some four years ago, she was an undeniably aged lady, 82 years old. Upon arrival, she would laboriously hoist herself up out of her car, then shuffle stiffly to the door. She lamented her spacious yard, which she had always tended so meticulously. But she couldn’t do that any more. Old age had sentenced her to an armchair. Still, she wasn’t prepared to give up! That is why she made the trip to get a supply of our mineral water, which she had heard encouraging stories about.

Some three months later we noticed that she seemed more buoyant. One day all of us were out at her car loading the jugs of mineral water into the trunk when Janny suddenly spun around and set off towards the house at a brisk trot. A minute later she had returned, holding her handbag, which she had left inside. “But Janny,” we exclaimed in surprise, “You ran!” “Not only that,” she said. “I’ve felt so much more energetic since I started drinking your water.” And indeed it was as if a weight had been lifted from her. And she was certainly pleased about being able to work in her yard again.

This is a story sent to us by Farah, the little girl’s mother.

“My 18-month-old daughter has a terrible case of eczema. She’s had it since she was just a few months old. To make matters worse, she has also had a continual cold for much of her life, which causes terrible coughing fits at night, to the point that she often wakes up crying. My son, who is four, suffers from similar fits of coughing.

Unfortunately, our search for remedies hadn’t turned up anything helpful at all. We tried hormone ointments and cough syrups prescribed by our pediatrician, salt baths, creams and oils from organic stores and even consulted an osteopath and mesologist, but the symptoms continued. Nothing seemed to help.

One day, someone I spoke with suggested I contact Dineke and Karel Jongepier in Veendam (Netherlands). They are practitioners of radiesthesia, which involves measuring energy flows that are imperceptible to human senses. Using this very sensitive diagnostic method, many deficiencies and imbalances can be identified. Measurements are done in units on what is called the “Bovis scale.” Every person’s has a certain Bovis scale value, and if you take nutritional supplements that have a lower Bovis value than your own, they don’t do anything for you. Dineke and Karel can measure that exactly. (There is a lot more I could tell you about this, but I’ll keep this letter brief and to the point. For more information see http://www.djr-advies.nl/toepassingen.php).

In answer to my questions about my daughter, their measurements indicated that drinking mineral water from the spring in Wagenborgen could clear up her symptoms, because the water has very special healing properties. It measures something like 130,000 on the Bovis scale, which is by far the highest in the world.

To make a long story short, I made the trip to Groningen and was given a very welcoming reception by Hanneke and Gezinus. They invited me to join them for dinner. During the meal they told me all about their discovery, the certification process, the applications and a lot more about the water.

They also encouraged me to fill up a number of jugs and bring them home for my children.

After drinking the water, which by the way tastes wonderful, my kids’ colds AND coughing entirely disappeared in just four days! Incredible, especially since it had been such a terrible problem for a matter of months.

My daughter’s eczema gradually improved over the following days … to the point where it was hardly an issue at all, especially compared to before they started drinking the mineral water. About two weeks later she had recovered completely.

You can imagine how very thankful, joyful and amazed I am as their mother! About the water and its effect… Even though I live in Utrecht some three hours away, I wouldn’t hesitate to step in the car and drive right back to Groningen to pick up another supply.”

water and health

Water is the main constituent of the human body: 60% to 80% of our body weight is made up of water. Water performs a variety of functions in our body: it prevents dehydration, maintains body temperature and dissolves the nutrients the body needs. If we don’t drink enough water, the body dries out, resulting in fatigue, headaches and diminished concentration. Adequate fluid intake helps the body function properly, and water makes a vital contribution to that. A person can survive for several weeks without food, but without water you can hold out only a few days.

Some generally accepted recommendations about drinking water:

  • An adult needs at least 1.5 to 2.5 liters of water each day (some 1.5 to 2.5 quarts).

Water contains no fat, no cholesterol and no calories, and it is a vital component of a balanced diet. From a physiological perspective, water is the only drink that is essential for health.

Natural mineral water is a source of trace elements and minerals. The amounts of minerals we need on a daily basis depend on our age, lifestyle and other factors. Drinking mineral water regularly helps supply the body the fluids it requires as well as providing adequate quantities of minerals. It goes without saying that the amounts of minerals absorbed by the body from mineral water depend on the quality of the water consumed.

Natural mineral water contains a variety of elements that the human body/organism needs.  Minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium occur as active components in our tissues, where they serve to regulate vital bodily functions and metabolic processes.

The most important minerals found in our natural mineral water:

  • Sodium (Na)
Important for maintaining sufficient volumes of fluid in our body. It also regulates nerve impulses between our nerves and muscles.
  • Potassium (K)
Regulates the fluid balance in our body and the functioning of muscles and nerves. Potassium thus prevents cramps in athletes and helps fight kidney stones. Potassium, furthermore, is active in reducing blood pressure.
  • Chlorides (Cl)
Alongside sodium and potassium, chlorides are responsible for maintaining a healthy fluid balance. As a constituent of the gastric fluids it also aids digestion.
  • Calcium (Ca)
Needed for formation and maintenance of bones and teeth. Calcium is also important for the clotting of blood, transmission of nerve impulses, muscle functioning and the transport of substances (sodium, potassium and magnesium) between the cells of the body.
  • Magnesium (Mg)
Required for bone formation and growth because it promotes cementing of calcium in the bones. Magnesium is active in stabilizing the nervous system, thus combating fatigue, stress and anxiety.
  • Bicarbonates (HCO3)
Help regulate the gastric acids, facilitate digestion and play an active role in maintenance of the acid/alkaline balance in our cells.
  • Sulfates (SO4)
Facilitate nutrient transport and in high dosages have a laxative effect.
  • Phosphorus (P)
Another important constituent of the bones and teeth, and also required for enzyme formation. It assists in energy production and is a building block of nucleic acids.

Trace elements provided via natural mineral water and spring water:

  • Fluorine (F)
Fights cavities and is important for tooth enamel.
  • Iron (Fe)
Contributes to red blood cell formation and is responsible for the uptake and release of oxygen in the blood.
  • Zinc (Zn)
A component of many enzymes in the body. Among its major functions are tissue renewal and the functioning of the immune system.
  • Iodine (I)
A building block of the thyroid hormones, which are essential for proper growth, development of the nervous system and maintaining the body’s metabolism.
  • Silica (SiO2)
Plays an important role in maintaining tissue elasticity, in bone and cartilage formation and in the working of the heart and blood vessels.
